There always seems to be a moment of retrospect when a new vintage is released. For 28 months the grapes at Riverbend Vineyard have evolved through each stage of the winemaking process and resulting in something truly enjoyable. The process of winemaking may appear to be quite glamorous though it requires specific attention to detail and plenty of sanitizing. The 2014 vintage was no exception to the rigors of winemaking. Even still, the resulting glass of wine and the memories made in its enjoyment are what making winemaking such a, dare I say, intoxicating experience.
In total our 2014 vintage features six red wines:
- Cabernet Franc
- Tribute
- Merlot
- Malbec
- Syrah
- Cabernet Sauvignon
This vintage is different from previous vintages for two reasons. First, because we doubled our total case production to around 2,800. (Roughly, 124 cases of Cabernet Franc, 187 cases of Tribute, 425 cases of Merlot, 459 cases of Syrah, 99 cases of Malbec, 569 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon in addition to our Rose release) Second, because this vintage will include the release of our first ever magnums of Syrah and Cabernet. Our increase in production was due to our relocation of the winery to our current facility and tasting room along the South shore of Lake Chelan.
I invite you and your loved ones to come join me and my family along the shores of Lake Chelan.
Cheers!
